We had the pleasure of dining at the roti maharani and I must say, it was a great experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting a feeling like a piece of Trinidad in cold New Jersey. The staff and owner were incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was absolutely delicious! Every dish was prepared with fresh ingredients and expertly seasoned. Beyond dining in, we also used their catering services for a recent event, and they did not disappoint! The food arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. We would definitely be returning!
I found this place by accident and decided to give it a try and boy was I glad I did! When you enter, you are greeted by great decor and an open floor plan that can seat lots of people. The staff are very friendly, patient and inviting. The place is clean and the staff is very conscious of food safety. Since this was my first time here, I ordered 2 doubles with everything and slight pepper just to test it out. I went to my car to eat said doubles since I was starving and I immediately knew I had to go back and get more once I took that first bite! The bara was so fluffy and delicious and the Chana with the chutneys pushed it over the edge. This is my new spot for sure! I can't wait to try more of their menu. I'm currently home eating the other doubles I ordered the second time around and I regret not getting more haha!
I've been to the roti maharani a couple times now and they never fail to disappoint! The customer service is always the same every time and the staff is very accommodating. The FOOD is AMAZING! The owner Sasha makes it a point to always be present around her customers. She knows who her audience is which is always a plus. May I add she is also very friendly and sweet! If you live local or are here from out of town, it's definitely worth a visit coming to the roti maharani. You won't be disappointed!
Amazing food and the service was even better. The owner stayed open late in order for us to make it there and enjoy a great meal. We devoured doubles, curry chicken, shrimp, mango and pumpkin, everything was extremely flavorful.
I live in an area where there are not great options for Caribbean food. My friend and I took a drive here from Jersey City and WOW. So delicious. I’ve been longing to eat some good doubles. I got two plain doubles with everything and two with goat. SO AMAZING. We also got the duck platter with pumpkin and roti on the side to dip (don’t remember the name) and that was amazing as well. The staff was incredibly friendly and took our order last minute before they closed (we called at 7:30ish, got there at 7:50pm) Such sweethearts! The interior is huge and clean, beautifully painted with bright colors, decorated with Caribbean flags all around; a very welcoming atmosphere Thank you for your service and amazing food! If you’re reading this, JUST GO!! You won’t regret it. Don’t miss out on a good meal.
I loved the doubles! The owner met with me and she was a pure delight. Straight off the island and into the kitchen. The flavors were everything Carribean. Having been to maracas during my last trip to Trinidad and walking into the restaurant and seeing backdrop of the beach, made my experience even more pleasant. 10stars if possible. Never been to a place serving Spanish food and Trini food! Awesome
So listen. I came to NY and insisted on getting some authentic Caribbean food while here, and was brought to this lovely little place. They fuse Trini food with Latino, Indian, and Chinese dishes. SO bomb! I'll definitely be back. They're friendly, and the Aunties definitely put their foot in it. I had to go back there and tell them how good it was. *Chef's kiss*
I was always on the search for a Trinidadian restaurant in North Jersey with food that tastes authentic to the cuisine in Trinidad. I am so grateful to have stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant - The Roti Maharani. The doubles are so divine and genuinely taste like doubles from T&T. The bara is not heavy and oily like other restaurants in the NJ/NY area it is absolutely perfect and light and the channa has amazing flavor. I’ve also ordered dhalpuri and bake and shark and those also tasted amazing! The dhalpuri was sooo soft and flavorful. The owner is also an amazing person, she leaves the cutest smiley face on the bag which makes my day whenever I order. I highly recommend this restaurant to those looking for authentic flavorful yummy Trini food!!! It will always be my go-to.
